Welcome to Health Education 3, Women's Health!

As we start the semester, there are some things you need to be aware of to be successful in this online environment. Below are some tips for being successful and getting the grade that you want in this course. After you view the information below, make sure you complete the first assignment, which does not require any book. This assignment lets me know you have logged on. There are a lot of students who want to add, but I need to make sure you want to be in this class before I drop you. Please turn the first assignment in within the first 5 days of the beginning of the start of the course/semester.

The best way to navigate through the course is with the Modules tab. That displays everything by units and is the easiest to follow. Make sure you read all of the helpful info in the top four bars of the Module page. Below are some of those helpful tips.

HERE ARE SOME IMPORTANT TIPS TO FOLLOW...

1. The deadlines are listed in parenthesis next to the unit. Make sure you are aware of the times as well. After that the unit closes and you will lose access.

2. Open up each content item for a unit at the start of the week and see what will be due. Some units have assignments that are worth many points and will require extra research and writing on your part. You will want to plan your time accordingly.

3. When you send an email you must have your course and section number in the subject line. I teach multiple sections of a course and don't open email that I can't identify. I will not except late work just because you forgot to put your name or section number on it.

4. Buy the book ASAP. Everything in this course comes straight from the text.

5. The tests are timed. You get plenty of time time to take the tests. Every student gets a different test randomly created by the computer. To get a good grade on tests I recommend you take them after you have done all the other work in that week. Read the chapter(s) completely. Make flash cards for keys terms, concepts, and studies/reports/or stats cited. The tests are multiple choice and true/false.

6. COMPUTER FAILURE - When you take a test be sure to save your answers every 3-5 minutes. If you do not save your answers your computer might go offline because it does not think that you are using it. If it shuts down you will lose everything and get a zero on the test. This usually happens to 4-10 students a semester. You will not be allowed to go back into an exam. I have heard every excuse!
