About Your Instructor
Dr. Wayne Chris Hawkes
I'm a retired government scientist and conducted research in the field of nutritional cancer prevention. I enjoy teaching chemistry because it ties a lot of things together and helps understand how things work at the unseen level of atoms and molecules. When I'm not nerding out on science I like to ride my Harley and I've been learning how to paraglide. As your chemistry instructor, I will strive to communicate my expectations clearly and make myself available to you whenever possible. Canvas is the best way to communicate with me - I check my email several times a day and usually respond the same day. I will provide my personal cell number to registered students for voice calls, but texts are not a good way to reach me.
